ORN provides no-cost, request-based training and technical assistance to Tribal communities nationwide. Services are coordinated through the Indigenous Communities Response Team and delivered in partnership with Tribal leaders, organizations and community experts to support locally identified priorities. Support is community-informed, locally relevant and designed to build long-term capacity.

Strengthening Prevention, Treatment and Recovery in Native American and Indigenous Communities
ORN provides community-specific trainings tailored to local priorities, leadership and systems-level education, program planning and sustainability consultation and access to subject-matter experts and a national resource library. Prevention support can include overdose prevention education, naloxone distribution and saturation planning, youth-focused strategies and community education to reduce stigma and increase awareness.
Treatment support can include education on evidence-based practices for opioid and stimulant use disorders, Medication for Opioid Use Disorder implementation, culturally responsive care approaches, workforce development and telehealth strategies for rural and remote communities.
Recovery support can include peer-led recovery models, recovery-oriented systems planning, family-centered approaches and integration of cultural and traditional healing practices identified by the community.

Tribal Opioid Response Webinar Series
This webinar series is designed for SAMHSA TOR grantees, Tribal organizations and communities. Webinars are hosted live, monthly and cover prevention, treatment and recovery for opioid and stimulant use disorders. The series is produced by ORN through a partnership with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education working with the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and supported by SAMHSA.
