Overview

The Opioid Response Network (ORN) was established in 2018 in response to a grant awarded to the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Today, ORN is funded through SAMHSA’s State Opioid Response/ Tribal Opioid Response – Technical Assistance (SOR/TOR-TA) program. AAAP leads the network in collaboration an unprecedented alliance of national organizations.

ORN advances the provision of trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and evidence-based substance use-related approaches and interventions across the country, and across the lifespan, to reduce the impacts of opioid and stimulant misuse and use disorders on individuals, families and communities. ORN provides free educational resources and technical assistance across the continuum of prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery support services.
